Over 50 ministries A to Z:
The A.C.T.S groups promote adoration, community, theology and service to the parish. Four times a year ACTS holds a three-day retreat: One for men in English, one for men in Spanish, one for women in English, and one for women in Spanish. Scholarships are given for those in need.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the side chapel of the church on Clower Street.
Come anytime to be with Jesus or sign up for a regular weekly time.
We want at least 2 people in attendance every hour.

Adult Bible Studies (English)
Every Monday, 7 p.m., on evenings when CCD is also in session.
Altar Servers
Children with a call to serve the Lord as servers during masses or other religious services to help the priests. The children must have completed First Communion to participate, and receive training and meet for spiritual growth, support and fun.
Altar Society
This ministry cares for the house of God by purchasing all that is needed for church services. They maintain the sanctuary, main altar, and provide the candles used in the church.
Baptism
All parents and Godparents of infants to be baptized must attend classes. A registration fee of $20.00 is required to cover church expenses. Please register at the rectory.
Boy Scouts of America – Pack 316
Prepares boys between 1st-5th grade to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Actively involved in different aspects of the church to instill the positive values of faith and belief.
Court Bishop Odin #1758
Catholic lay and religious women, 18 years of age or older, who love and support the Church and wish to participate in social,
and charitable activities, are welcome. Founded in 1903 by the Knights of Columbus. The largest national organization of Catholic women
dedicated to strengthen their spiritual life through Christ and his Church.
• Holy Spirit Empowerment • Personal Holiness • Renewed Catholic Life • Evangelization • The Charismatic Renewal witnesses to elements of the Good News which are central, not optional: the covenant love of the Father, the Lordship of Jesus, the power of the Spirit, sacramental and community life, prayer, charisms, and the necessity of evangelization.
Classes are open to Elementary (K-5), Middle School (6-8), and High School Aged Children. Middle School youth attend EDGE, while High School youth attend Life Teen. CCD provides religious education programs for public school children of all ages during the school season. These services include classes in: First Communion, First Reconciliation, Confirmation classes (Grade 9-10), and other Religious Education Classes. Adult Bible studies are also offered in English and Spanish.
Weekly charismatic prayer services on Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. (Spanish Group in church, English Group in Jubilee Hall). Sponsor a Healing Mass the last Thursday of each month in the church. Twice a year these prayer groups provide Life In the Spirit Seminars, an introduction to a life lived in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Choir & Music
Each weekend mass has a music group dedicated to the joyful sound of voices and instruments to praise the Lord.
Coro Mexicano
Sunday 9:00 a.m. Spanish Mass choir. Also available for vigil rosaries and special occasion masses. They also accept invitations for outside events when possible.
CYO (Catholic Youth Organization): Sports
Sports activities for children: Basketball, Baseball and Softball.
Divina Misericordia
Group that recites the Divine Mercy Chaplet in Spanish every Monday through Friday in the Adoration Chapel at 3:00 p.m., “the hour of salvation” when Jesus died for us on the cross.
EDGE (Middle School Youth Ministry)
Our middle school youth ministry program utilizing relevant and interactive catechesis.

Offers in-depth faith formation classes for adults in Spanish.

Eucharistic Ministers (Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist)
Dedicated parishioners who serve the Eucharist at weekend masses.
Familias del Rosario
Encourages families to pray the Rosary together in their homes and dedicate their homes to the two sacred hearts: Jesus and Mary.
Family Faith Formation
Has a special event every month while CCD is in session, including the Living Stations of the Cross at 3:00 p.m. every Good Friday and Las Posadas in Advent. Some events are for parents, held during CCD evening classes, while others, such as the Living Stations and Las Posadas, are for the whole family.
Family Ministry
Holds different family oriented celebrations, such as family retreats and the Seder Meal, and promotes charity within the parish families.
Feed My Sheep (aid to poor in Mexico)
This ministry brings abundant material and spiritual aid to the poor living in colonias in border areas of Mexico.
Festival
Our annual church sponsored neighborhood festival, also known as OctoberFest, takes place on the first Sunday of October from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Join us for food, live music, a parade, games, bingo, and more!
Girl Scouts of America – Troop 173
2010 was their first year at St Mary Magdalen. They prepare girls grades Kinder - 3rd to develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, like leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth. They are actively involved in different aspects of the church to instill the positive values of faith and belief.
Greeters & Welcoming Ministry
Greeters: Parishioners who greet and welcome everyone who attends weekend masses, especially visitors.
Welcoming Ministry: includes all our efforts to help make newcomers feel welcome and loved,
and invite them to become an active part of our parish.
Grupo Carismático (Spanish Prayer Group)
Weekly charismatic prayer services in Spanish on Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. Sponsors a bilingual Healing Mass the last Thursday of each month in the church. Twice a year this group also provides Life In the Spirit Seminars, an introduction to a life lived in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Guadalupanas(os)
An international society whose goal is to promote devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe through prayer and service. They sponsor retreats and yearly pilgrimages to La Virgin De San Juan Del Valle and our Lady of Guadalupe Basilica in Monterrey, Mexico. They also say weekly rosaries for community needs and have special masses offered for the sick and deceased. In addition they help with the cleaning of the church, provide Thanksgiving baskets for the needy, sponsor children’s Easter events, and provide meals for funerals and special receptions. They also provide a breakfast for Father’s Day.
Helping Hands of Hope
Supports and encourages children and youth, including an annual summer camp weekend in the Hill Country and community service hours.
Hombres en Cristo / Men in Christ
Meet every Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. at Jubilee Hall. This bilingual group meets to pray, discuss and share Scripture readings, and fellowship. They also sponsor free one day retreats for men every year.
Home Visitation
Visits homes within the parish boundaries. These teams of volunteers and clergy offer to bless homes, invite people to become a part of our church, and respond to prayer requests by our neighbors by praying with them and for them.
Knights of Columbus
A Catholic men's service organization dedicated to helping our community develop and grow by being involved in parish activities and supporting parish goals. Together we practice the principals of our Order: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.
Lectors (Readers)
Parishioners dedicated to the Word of the Lord, reading the Scriptures and making announcements at weekend masses.
Legion of Mary
An international organization known for their spiritual dedication to the shut-ins in their homes or senior citizen homes. Members set their own schedules for visits with individuals.
Life Teen is an international Catholic ministry that believes that Eucharist-based ministry has the power to transform teens, transform parishes, and transform culture. Preparation for Confirmation is just a part of this dynamic, comprehensive youth ministry.
Little Angel Thrift Shop
A volunteer operated thrift shop. All donated items are sold to help fund church functions. The shop is located at the corner of West Ave and Lee Hall. Hours of operation are Saturday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Liturgia de la Palabra para Niños
Sharing the Word of God at the 9:00 a.m. mass with the children of the parish. Leaders give witness to the children, encourage the children to a prayerful and active participation at mass, and promote acceptable behavior in the Eucharistic assembly of our Sunday celebration.
Married Couples Ministry
For married couples of all ages, this ministry seeks to enrich, strengthen, and nurture marriages in our parish through prayer, fellowship, and development of better communication and faith-building skills.
Matlachines
Adults who dance to honor La Virgen de Guadalupe.
Mujeres en Cristo
Bilingual women's group that meets every Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. at Jubilee Hall for prayer, discussion and sharing of Scripture readings, and fellowship.
Niños Danzantes
Children of the community who honor Our Lady of Guadalupe through dancing. They travel once a year to the Basilica in Monterrey, Mexico, where they visit an orphanage and make donations.

Advisory board for our Pastor.
Patricios (Children's Choir)
Guitar and sing lessons for children. The group teaches the children to play and sing church music.
Pro-Life Events
Special prayer events, usually involving praying while walking to an abortion clinic, then continuing to pray for an end to abortion in front of the clinic. We also participate in other Pro-Life events and activities held throughout our region and nation.
RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
This program prepares adults who are inquiring about the Catholic religion. Classes also prepare adults for Baptism, First Eucharist and Confirmation. Candidates meet from August through May.
RCIC - Rite of Christian Initiation for Children
Parents assist in preparing children for Baptism, First Eucharist and Confirmation. Candidates meet from August through May.
RICA - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults in Spanish
This program prepares adults who are inquiring about the Catholic religion. Classes also prepare adults for Baptism, First Eucharist and Confirmation. Candidates meet from August through May.
Secular Franciscans
Promote a Christian life through study and imitation of their patron saint: Francis of Assisi. Provide quarterly blood drives, free Thanksgiving dinner for people who have no place to go for the holiday, assist with funerals, hospital visitations, lead Stations of the Cross during Lent, and assist with other parish needs.

St. Vincent de Paul
A national organization dedicated to serving needy families by providing food, medicine and payment of utility bills. The St. Vincent De Paul house is located on Clower across from the church. Call 735-3700 for more information.
Tech help
Volunteers who help with computer work of various kinds, or with audio visual equipment, such as sound systems or projectors, etc.
Translators
Volunteers who are fluent enough in both languages to be able to translate from one language to the other using proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and idioms.
Ushers
Parishioners who greet and usher those attending weekend masses.
Women at the Well
This group sponsors free one-day retreats for women every year.
Women's Faith Sharing Group
English speaking women's group that meets every Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. at Jubilee Hall for prayer, discussion and sharing of Scripture readings, and fellowship.
